Electrical Engineer, Humanoid Robotics
RobotX Inc. is an AI robotics company dedicated to enable robots to perform a wide range of tasks in both home and industrial settings—addressing challenges like labor shortages, dangerous jobs, and repetitive work. We are expanding fast, delivering next-generation humanoid robots, robotic dogs, and service robots to hotels, restaurants, schools, government agencies, and enterprise clients.
You will own the electrical systems inside RobotX humanoids and robot dogs — power, harnessing, boards, and communication — and make them reliable enough to run shift after shift in a customer's building.
Our Mission
To enhance human capabilities through advanced artificial intelligence.
Our Vision
To deploy autonomous robots globally and help solve critical challenges in the labor economy.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and validate low-voltage power distribution, battery interfaces, converters, and protection for humanoid and quadruped platforms.
- Create schematics and PCB layouts for sensor, interface, and power boards; manage fabrication and assembly vendors.
- Design wire harnesses for power and data with proper shielding, strain relief, and serviceability.
- Specify and debug communication links — CAN, Ethernet, USB, I2C, Wi-Fi, and cellular — between actuators, sensors, and compute.
- Run electrical testing: power validation, signal integrity, thermal, and EMI/EMC pre-compliance.
- Support production builds and field escalations with hands-on debugging and clear documentation.
Ideal Candidate
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years designing power and interface electronics for robots, vehicles, drones, or similar electromechanical products.
- Proficient in Altium, KiCad, or equivalent PCB tools, and in bench equipment such as oscilloscopes and power analyzers.
- Experience designing custom harnesses and working with contract manufacturers.
- Systems thinker who collaborates well with mechanical, firmware, and software engineers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience taking a robot or device from prototype through production.
- Background with battery management systems or high-current motor drive electronics.
- Familiarity with safety and EMC standards relevant to commercial robots.
Compensation
- Competitive base salary
- Performance bonuses
- Opportunities for rapid promotion as the company scales
